Religious Proverb

Bhutan derives a great deal of its moral values and inspiration from its religious heritage. Thus, many sayings and proverbs also have their origin in the religious scriptures and practices. They have religious content and are also used frequently in religious sermons and other occasions. Among the religions, Buddhism is the dominant tradition in most parts of Bhutan while Hinduism is prevalent among the Lhotshampa population in southern districts. Religious proverbs are generally composed and used in Chokey or classical Tibetan.
